On a 5.8 ha site in Ranzay, we imagined the city favoring creativity and interactions with technological innovations, collaborative work, the ephemeral, the “work in progress”. The plot was redesigned by partly reshaping and elevating the existing frame. The typology of the housing is replaced by areas that are adaptable in their use and forms (housing, offices, shops, services, shared spaces, …). Thus an animated pedestrian street is created (food trucks, flea market, etc.) and land space becomes available on the rest of the plot. Rather than a project, we delivered a story, that of an inhabitant which brings testimony in the long run on the virtuous evolution of their district. Download the brochure

Our approach was the opposite of “tabula rasa”. How does a city evolve and adapt to the real needs of its inhabitants. Such sedimentation is expressed through juxtaposition, piling up, recycling, polyvalence ….
The prospective and multi-field pool lead by Magnum has come about with a vision of the city that is deeply influenced by the analysis of transitions and the consequences on its usages.
