Find the lost cordon of dunes again and allow its uses all year long

Our application for this project in 2006 was supported by two powerful ideas : restore a dune atmosphere and facilitate access to the beach. A simple concept that allowed the programme to develop while keeping consistence in space and time. As the construction progresses on the site the central square becomes the main access to the sea. Far more than a simple crossing point, it now offers a wide slope inviting people to reach the beach : regular events, belvederes, benches and shelters invite you to fully enjoy the newfound dune, and to contemplate the seaside landscape. Today the theme gardens, protected from the winds, are laid down at the bottom of the dune. The traffic on the boulevard is kept remote and the pedestrian flows are identified and made safe. Re-characterization of the waterfront green spaces is founded on the basic principles of the dune natural environment composition with herb plants, marine-proof shrubs and trees. The mosaicist’s intervention allowed the staging of the local vegetal patrimony.
